Respiratory Therapist - Critical Care

Location: New York

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day 3x12-Hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00)

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our critical care team. This role involves providing respiratory care for adult patients in various care areas including the ICU, ER, and other departments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in critical care respiratory therapy practices and be comfortable in handling patients of all ages, from neonates to adults.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy services to patients.
• Perform critical functions such as extubation, airway placements, and suctioning.
• Administer medications through various delivery systems.
• Interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) and manage ventilator settings.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to provide quality patient care.
• Provide care to COVID-19 populations as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy, preferably in critical care settings.
• Valid NY State License required prior to submission.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP.
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates not accepted.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is a hard requirement.
