Healthcare Tech (HCT) in Training - Start Date 7/6/26

Overview The HCT in Training will participate in a total of 8 weeks of training in preparation for work as a Carle Healthcare Technician. Will attend class and clinical session for six weeks. Train alongside Carle Healthcare Technician for two weeks to practice on-the-job skills. Successfully transition to HCT position in inpatient setting. Qualifications Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA) Education: H.S. Diploma/GED (Required) Responsibilities Attends HCT training classes and clinical sessions. Measures patient vital signs. Provides excellent hygiene care to patients. Assists with ambulation and mobility. Attends HCT training classes and clinical sessions. Works under the direction of a preceptor during clinical sessions. Performs or assists patients with activities of daily living. As directed by the registered nurse, collects and documents data accurately and timely. Demonstrates competency in skills outlined in competency modules, including measurement of vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and measuring and recording intake and output. Stocks nurse servers when able on clinical unit sites. Completes all mandatory training and competency modules. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $17 per hour - $17 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
