Base Salary: $80,000–$84,000
First-Year OTE: $102,000
Travel: Up to 70% Overnight Travel

POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client, an established manufacturer of material analysis equipment and supplies, is seeking an experienced Field Sales Engineer to manage and grow a five-state Midwest territory.

This role focuses on selling technical equipment and consumables to quality control customers in automotive, aerospace, heat treating, electronics, and other manufacturing industries.

The ideal candidate has a proven record of managing multimillion-dollar sales territories, developing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth through consultative technical sales.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Grow territory revenue through existing accounts and new business development.
• Sell technical equipment and consumables to laboratory, production, and quality control customers.
• Manage and expand consumables sales within high-volume accounts.
• Conduct approximately 5 high-quality, face-to-face customer meetings per week .
• Identify decision-makers, assess customer needs, and develop commercial proposals.
• Meet or exceed assigned territory sales goals.
• Partner with the Business Development Specialist to expand account opportunities.
• Maintain accurate forecasts, sales pipelines, and customer records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM .
• Install Buehler equipment and instruct customers on basic operation and functionality.
• Participate in weekly sales meetings and maintain assigned company equipment and vehicle.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 5+ years of outside sales experience selling technical equipment in laboratory or production environments.
• Experience managing a sales territory exceeding $4 million.
• Proven success managing multistate territories and developing technical sales accounts.
• Strong sales, account management, and customer service skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline preferred; Materials Science is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Must reside in or near Chicago, IL.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 70%.
• Clean driving record and ability to lift 5–25 pounds.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
