QC Weld Inspector Needed!!!!!


The QC Weld Inspector is responsible for ensuring all welded components meet required quality, safety, and compliance standards before release to production, shipment, or installation. This role performs visual and dimensional inspections, verifies weld procedures, documents findings, and collaborates closely with welders, supervisors, and engineering to maintain consistent fabrication quality.
Key Responsibilities
Perform visual weld inspections on structural, pipe, and custom-fabricated components in accordance with AWS D1.1, ASME, and project-specific requirements. Verify weld sizes, lengths, and overall quality using gauges, measuring tools, and inspection equipment. Review and validate WPS/PQR compliance, ensuring welders follow approved procedures and parameters. Conduct dimensional inspections on fabricated assemblies to confirm tolerances, alignment, and fit-up accuracy. Document inspection results through detailed reports, NCRs, and quality logs; maintain organized records for traceability. Identify defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, incomplete fusion, and other discontinuities; communicate corrective actions to welding personnel. Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. Perform incoming material inspections to verify grade, certification, and suitability for fabrication. Support final QC checks prior to shipment, ensuring all components meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. Assist with weld testing (x-rays, bend tests, tensile tests, hardness checks) when required. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, fabrication standards, and shop quality procedures.
