Job Summary Responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining computer numerically controlled (CNC) routers to cut and shape various materials into specified forms, shapes, and sizes. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all products are of the highest quality and meet customer specifications. Responsibilities and Duties Follow the set up, shut down and operation instructions. Able to perform changeovers and replace tooling as required. Ability to read and interpret drawings and shop routings. Ensure all work is completed per the work order. Ensure all quality standards are met. Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly. Perform all design maintenance tasks and maintain a clean work area. Basic understanding of wood species. Requires excellent attention to detail and a results driven approach. Able to use a tape measure and calipers. Able to perform to production standards. Ability to determine common quality defects in material. Strong communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written. Able to lift heavy objects in excess of 30 lbs without considerations. Ability to perform other duties as assigned. Ability to work overtime as required. Basic math and computer skills. Understanding of CAD/CAM a plus Skill in operating CNC machinery is a plus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to: Remain in a stationary position for extended periods. Move about the factory floor to access machinery, materials, and product storage. Transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Operate, activate, and use production machinery and hand tools that require repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers. Detect and inspect parts for quality control at close vision (less than 20 inches) and assess safety hazards from a distance (20 feet or more). The employee will be exposed to a manufacturing environment where the noise level can be loud and will work around moving mechanical parts. Regular exposure to airborne particles and temperature fluctuations should be expected. The use of appropriate PPE is required.
