The successful candidate will have a background in partnership and/or M&A transactions and will be comfortable modeling the cash and U.S. GAAP tax treatment of transactions.Job OverviewEmployees in this job drive value by providing support to the organization with respect to the tax aspects of pending acquisitions, dispositions, financings, reorganizations, restructurings, and joint ventures, with a view to optimize taxes.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and understand relevant tax laws for tax planning transactionsConsult tax advisors to understand relevant tax rules and counsel business units and deal teams to understand tax implicationsPrepare or review financial models to illustrate the tax consequences of various alternativesServe as the US federal income tax single point of accountability and identify tax issues to be addressed by applicable subject matter expertDraft and review tax provisions in deal documentsPerforms other job-related duties as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor's DegreeJuris DoctorateExperience: 1+ yearsMember in Good Standing of State Bar or Bar of Equivalent Foreign JurisdictionPreferred QualificationsLLM - Master of LawsNextEra Energy offers a wide range of benefits to support our employees and their eligible family members.
