Production AssistantThe objective of the Production Assistant position is to assist and support the Production Coordinator in overseeing daily production operations. The role involves guiding workers in daily production operations, supporting customer service efforts, and assisting the Production Coordinator to maintain quality and safety standards. This role ensures smooth production flow in the absence of the Production Coordinator.Areas & ResponsibilitiesCoordination and Team Development: Assists in coordination of production personnel.Assists in training and development opportunities of team members to enhance skills and promote career growth.Safely operates material handling equipment.Maintains safety standards and practices.Quality Assurance: Assists in development and review of work instructions with all team members.Ensures that production processes and finished products meet established quality standards and specifications.Addresses and resolves any quality-related problems promptly and effectively.Production Planning and Coordination: Meets production schedules as established by our customers and communicated through the Materials Planning Coordinator (MPC).Supports customer service efforts with the MPC and functions as a back-up in the absence of the Production Coordinator.Assists in completing time studies for all active jobs.Monitors and adjusts production processes to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.Reporting and Documentation: Accurately completes daily production documentation.Crisis Intervention: Assists case management staff to provide crisis intervention as needed.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Ability to stand and walk for 6–8 hours per shift, moving between areas in the production facility.Regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, using proper techniques or mechanical aids for heavier loads.Frequently reach above shoulder and below waist, and bend or stoop to access machinery or low-level workspaces.Occasionally climb ladders or stairs and maintain balance on elevated surfaces or in awkward positions.Ability to drive a forklift safely.Work in varying temperatures and tolerate loud noise, with required safety measures.Maintain physical activity and focus throughout the shift, performing repetitive and high-pressure tasks.Observe visual and auditory cues from clients and employees.Effectively communicate with team members, management, and other departments in person, by phone, and in writing.Review and analyze complex documents and data.Perform repetitive motions with hands and wrists using a computer keyboard.Ability to use fine motor skills to handle and assemble small pieces.Ability to drive to various employment sites, meet with customers, and attend trainings as needed.CompetenciesLeadership: Ability to supervise, motivate, and develop a team, managing tasks and performance while fostering a productive work environment.Production Management: Expertise in planning, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to meet targets efficiently, collaborating with other departments for smooth operations.Quality Control: Ensures all products meet set standards by implementing and overseeing quality assurance procedures.Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of safety regulations, capable of enforcing protocols and maintaining a hazard-free workplace through regular audits.Process Optimization: Strong analytical skills to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements that enhance productivity.Documentation & Reporting: Maintains accurate records of production metrics, inventory, and employee performance, ensuring adherence to SOPs and company policies.Adaptability & Coverage: Versatility to fill various roles across production areas, including supervisory positions in different locations.Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and capable of operating production machinery.Physical Endurance: Stamina for long hours of standing, lifting, and working in various physical environments, including noisy or temperature-controlled spaces.Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to resolve production-related issues, ensuring timely resolutions and minimal disruption.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesAssists with supervision of Production Associates.Work EnvironmentNormal working hours are 40 hours per week within a warehouse/production environment.Physical DemandsAbility to sit, stand, walk, reach, kneel, and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds.Education And ExperienceHigh school diploma or its equivalent. Minimum of two years manufacturing experience.
