Certified Sterile Processor - Evenings, Weekends, Holidays

The Department of Sterile and Materials Processing is a state-of-the-art instrument processing and sterilizing facility assisting in the decontamination, High-Level Disinfection (HLD), assembling, sterilization, and distribution of clean and sterile surgical instruments, trays, and pans. These vital functions support 35 O.R. Suites, AFC units, and clinics through the use of advanced sterilization technology.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instrument pans, procedural trays, and surgical case carts.
• Operate steam sterilizers, ensuring proper time, pressure, and temperature levels.
• Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment, adhering to procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
• Receive, store, and document supplies, maintaining inventory levels and assisting in surgical supply orders.
• Perform quality assurance checks on sterile supplies and critical documentation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in a large hospital setting (500 beds or more)
• Travel experience of at least 6 months
• Two professional references from the last two assignments

Schedule

5x8.0 shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with on-call/callback responsibilities as needed.
