About the Position

Job Title

Surgical Technologist (CST) – Surgical Services

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 5x8-hour shifts, 7:00–15:30 | Weekends, call, and holidays as needed by unit

Key Responsibilities

• Perform surgical technologist duties in an acute care surgical services setting
• Scrub and assist during a variety of surgical procedures, maintaining sterile technique throughout
• Respond to on-call needs as required by the unit
• Work weekends and holidays as needed, including an expectation to cover at least one major holiday per contract period
• Document and chart accurately using EPIC EMR
• May provide care for COVID-positive patients as needed

Required Qualifications

• NBSTSA certification required — must hold active CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) or CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant) credential; NCCT certification is not accepted
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC only)
• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience
• Active EPIC EMR experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate
• Facility is tobacco-free and fragrance-free; candidates must comply with this policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong EPIC charting proficiency is heavily preferred
• Experience working in a high-volume or acute care surgical environment
• Familiarity with holiday and on-call rotation scheduling in a travel assignment context
