Millworks By Design is seeking skilled, detail-oriented finish carpenters of all experience levels to join our growing team. In this role, you'll contribute to the successful execution of custom residential and commercial projects, delivering exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, demonstrate reliability and precision, and are committed to producing high-end architectural millwork and finish carpentry.
As a key member of our field team, you'll work closely with superintendents, foremen, and fellow craftsmen to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates professionally, and is committed to excellence in every detail. We value long-term team members, and our interview process is thorough, including an onsite skills evaluation, to ensure the right fit for both the candidate and our company.
What You'll Own
- Execute high-quality finish carpentry and custom millwork installation, including cabinetry, paneling, ceilings, doors, trim, baseboards, crown molding, paneling, and specialty finishes.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, and project specifications to ensure precise installation.
- Measure, cut, fit, and install finish materials with exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while protecting finished surfaces and surrounding materials.
- Identify and resolve installation challenges in the field while maintaining project quality and schedule.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality, addressing punch list items promptly and professionally.
- Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Communicate project progress, material needs, and potential issues to supervisors in a timely manner.
- Represent MBD professionally on job sites by demonstrating reliability, accountability, and respect for clients, coworkers, clients, and project partners.

- Identifies and agrees with MBD's core values.
- Physical abilities must include manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, ability to work on foot all day, physical fitness, a good sense of balance as well as the ability to lift and carry heavy objects such as cabinets, doors, panels, beams, and other materials.
- Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
- Tool kit appropriate to level of experience.
- Reliable vehicle for organized transport of tools and commute to job site.
- Willingness to work in geographical areas per MBD's LA area map.
- Energetic and strong work ethic.
- "Can do" and team player mentality and attitude.
- Ability to learn quickly and retain skills you have learned
- Valid drivers license
What We Offer
- $18-$42 per hour, DOE
