Defense Machinist III - Thread Grind - 2nd Shift

BASIC FUNCTION
* Finish grind threads on all rotors to size, index, form, and finish as required.- Drill axial hole, cutoff, and counterbore as need.
- Grind end faces on idlers.
STATUS AND SCOPE
* With own judgement and minimal direction from others, produce a quality ground rotor in a safe and efficient manner.- Grind threads on all rotors-inspect sizes, index, form, lead, finish, etc.
- Deburr all sharp edges as needed.
- Check pump parts for burrs and fits.
- Assemble per assembly drawing.
- Test per specifications.
EQUIPMENT AND TYPICAL PARTS
* Operate one, two or more machines including NCTG, CFG, Cutoff, test stands, DHD, etc. * Use precision measuring equipment, such as micrometer, dial caliper, profilometers, lead checker, gash gauges, master, etc. to inspect rotors. * Operate electric or air-powered crane/forklift.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL TASKS
* Lift/pull/push. Continuously walk or move from one machine to as many as five. Physically, load and unload parts up to 40 pounds.- Deburr utilizing file or other hand tool such as die grinder.
- Clean parts and centers of chips and wipe dry.
- Physically, lift and check all dimensions machined to conform with finish
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Machining Trade School preferred and one to three years machining experience
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Use of advanced trade mathematics, reading complicated drawings,
