CNC Machinist | Weekend Only Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000/year Schedule: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) Location: Monroe, NC Position Type: Direct Hire (Permanent from Day 1) Are you a skilled machinist looking for better hours, great pay, and a company that values your expertise? What You’ll Do Set up and operate CNC horizontal and vertical mills, including basic program editing and axis assignments. Select, load, and change tooling (drills, endmills, reamers) and perform minor adjustments or indexable insert changes. Read blueprints, interpret dimensions and tolerances, and use micrometers and calipers for in‑process gauging to keep parts flawless. Follow ISO procedures and perform minor preventative maintenance. What You Bring 3+ years of proven proficiency setting up and operating CNC machines (lathes and VMCs). Blueprint reading skills and precision measurement expertise (micrometers and calipers). A sharp eye for detail and a commitment to safety and quality. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC horizontal and vertical mills, including axis assignment and basic program interpretation/editing. Select and load appropriate fixturing. Perform limited in‑process inspections with assigned gauging. Read and understand dimensions and tolerances on prints. Adjust tooling diameters and depths in accordance with work instructions to keep parts within specifications. Follow all ISO procedures. Perform tooling changes and touch‑offs, including drills, endmills, reamers, and indexable inserts on lathes and VMCs. Conduct minor preventative maintenance assignments. Maintain a 3‑year experience benchmark and proficiency with CNC machines. Essential Functions Wear steel‑toe shoes. Manual lifting up to 50 lbs. Stand for up to 8 hours at a time. Work weekends. Skills CNC machining – minimum 3 years’ experience. Blueprint reading – minimum 3 years’ experience. Micrometer use. Punch press operation. Qualifications Years of experience: 3+ years. Experience level: Experienced. High school diploma or equivalent (required).
