1st Shift CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist – 4‑Day Work Week Compensation: $55,000–$60,000 per year. Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM (enjoy a 3‑day weekend, with optional Friday/Weekend overtime). Location: Monroe, NC. Position type: Direct hire (permanent from day 1). Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC horizontal and vertical mills, including basic program editing and axis assignments. Select, load, and change tooling (drills, endmills, reamers) and perform minor adjustments or indexable insert changes. Read blueprints and interpret dimensions and tolerances; use micrometers and calipers for in-process gauging. Perform limited in‑process inspections with assigned gauges to keep parts within specifications. Adjust tooling diameters and depths as needed to keep parts within print. Follow ISO procedures and perform minor preventative maintenance. Execute all required tooling changes, touch‑offs, and qualified tooling changes, including indexable inserts on CNC lathes and CNC VMCs. Wear steel‑toe safety shoes, manually lift up to 50 lbs, and stand for up to 8 hours per shift. Qualifications 3+ years of proven proficiency setting up and operating CNC machines (lathes and VMCs). Strong blueprint reading skills and precision measurement expertise (micrometers and calipers). Sharp eye for detail and a commitment to safety and quality. High school diploma or equivalent. Skills 3+ years experience in CNC machining. Proficiency with press brake (if applicable). Ability to maintain tolerances and perform accurate measurements. Proficient with micrometers and calipers.
