The Manufacturing Accountant will report to the Controller and be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities. The Manufacturing Accountant is responsible for the following duties:

• Maintaining and modifying standard cost on a quarterly basis
• Interpreting and analyzing cost trends and patterns for finished goods and raw materials
• Assisting with month-end closing, including running reports, researching variances and completing detailed analysis
• Running daily, weekly, monthly and annual accounting reports within the ERP system and downloading into MS Excel
• Completing forecasting projects
• Ensuring accounting compliance
• Costing new items based on requests received from the plant and corporate
• Supporting the A/P process as needed; completing any needed troubleshooting and analysis
• Initiating cost downs and process improvements
• Assisting the site with special accounting requests and analysis
• Completing additional accounting tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS for the Manufacturing Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in accounting or finance
• At least three years in a similar accountant position in manufacturing and/or distribution
• Experience with journal entries and reconciliation
• Experience with detailed accounting analysis
• Experience working with ERP systems
• Microsoft Office, including strong MS Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)

• Candidates are preferred to be local to the Belton, MO area; a sign-on bonus is available to regional candidates meeting the requirements that would need to move closer.
