Engineer I, Equipment

Summary

As an Equipment Engineer I, you will support equipment troubleshooting and breakdowns, improve equipment through programming and design to increase overall efficiency and productivity, and provide technical guidance on controls within the plant to share foundational equipment knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Analyze OEE for breakdown frequency and uptime for daily production, including reporting on OEE metrics (Micro stop, BM, and yield; ~50% of time)

• Support the completion of production work orders for technology-based enhancements (e.g., PLC programming, line redesign) and monitor equipment post-improvement (~35% of time)

• Install new technology on the production line (e.g., laser installation; ~15% of time)

• Complete daily documentation and audits as required

• Follow established work instructions

• Adhere to safety requirements at all times, including proper PPE usage

• Adhere to general and position-specific dress code requirements

• Participate in and successfully complete all training requirements

• Maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)

• 1 to 3+ years of experience with installation, modification, analysis, repair, and testing of tools, machines, and equipment

• Experience analyzing equipment breakdown data

Skills

• Proficiency with 2D/3D equipment design software

• Strong collaboration and internal/external customer interaction skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Physical Requirements

• Ability to properly and regularly utilize PPE (safety glasses, steel-toed shoes) for up to 12 hours

• Ability to repeatedly perform the following for up to 12 hours: lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds, stoop, twist, bend, reach overhead, sit, and/or stand
