Job Summary
ICU Float Registered Nurse (RN) Portland, Maine. This position involves providing acute patient care across various Intensive Care Units within a facilitys float pool. The RN will be responsible for caring for sedated, intubated, and pressor-dependent patients, with a focus on teamwork, communication, and flexibility to adapt to different ICU environments.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; at least 3 years of ICU experience; ability to float to Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, and CCU; experience with sedation, intubation, and pressors; strong communication skills; focused on patient care excellence.
• Preferred Qualifications: Additional ICU certifications such as TNCC, ENPC, or ACLS preferred.
• Float: Float to Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, and CCU based on HCP experience. Must be flexible with assignments and duties.
• Additional Information: The RN will support staffing shortages during staffing reductions, ensuring patient safety and quality care. Responsibilities include floating to varied ICU units, caring for stable ICU patients, and working within patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3 depending on the unit. Dress code is scrubs; open-toed shoes, jeans, and clothing with large logos or print are not permitted. The position is a replacement for departing staff with start date on 08/10/2026.
