Registered Nurse, FloatThe RN Float position provides direct professional nursing care for patients admitted to the hospital as well as in the hospital outpatient departments by utilizing nursing knowledge and critical thinking skills. Performs technical nursing functions, utilizes the nursing process to assess patient status, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care. Ensures a therapeutic and safe environment for patients and families within the guidelines and policies of the department and the philosophy of the organization. This position provides age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for neonate, adolescent, and adult and geriatric patients. Compensation We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is: RN ASN, $42.70—$60.28; RN BSN, $44.41—$62.69; RN MSN, $46.18—$65.20. These ranges reflect the base rate for this position.Key AccountabilitiesPatient assessmentCompletes assessment in specified time frame.Identifies and consistently recognizes changes in normal and abnormal parameters in the patient's physiological and psychological condition.Patient care planningUses professional judgement and critical thinking to prepare, prioritize and execute the patient's plan of care consistent with patient assessment data and physician's treatment plans and professional standards of evidence-based practice.Directs and delegates support personnel in implementing patient's plan of care, provides supervision and guidance.Patient interventionsImplements nursing interventions to achieve progress toward expected patient outcomes or to stabilize a patient's condition and / or prevent complications.Consistently follows patient care and facility policy and procedures in performance of one's duties.Renders professional nursing care including administering medications, starting intravenous fluids and blood products.Performs all technical skills required for unit patient population such as, but not limited to IV venipuncture, restraint application, sterile dressings, etc.Evaluation of careEvaluates and documents patient's response to nursing care and modifies or revises treatment plans, and / or contacts physicians as circumstances require.Documentation reflects evaluation of patient response to nursing actions.Provides patient educationProvides and documents patient / family education based on diagnosis, treatment plan or prescribed medical regimen in accordance with patient / family readiness and ability to learn.Required QualificationsCurrent RN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing, in good standingMinimum 2 years RN hospital experienceCurrent BLS must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).Current ACLS must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).Current PALS must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment.
