Lead Alterations Specialist

Job Description Lead Alterations Specialist is responsible for completing all fittings and alterations to the high standards of David’s Bridal and reports to the Store Manager. The role requires exemplary customer service, technical expertise, and the ability to train and oversee the alterations team. Responsibilities Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm over the phone and in person, communicate clearly, and adapt style to suit customers. Make calls to maximize appointments, with a focus on bridal (80%) and dress (30%) services. Act as Floor Manager during peak sales times to offer fit and alterations consultations. Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting customers on gown fit and customization; promote all alteration services and personalization options. Lead and oversee all alterations fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning to company standards. Maintain quality control guidelines and inspect all garments to verify pristine condition before final delivery. Train Alterations Specialists in fitting and sewing techniques. Ensure ongoing product education for all Alterations team members. Communicate daily sales goals achieved to Store Manager. Use approved systems and processes to manage customer flow and deliver a 5‑Star Customer Experience. Maintain high dress‑code standards for self. Physical Demands Stand, walk, sit for extended periods; reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; lift up to 25 pounds; use vision for reading and operating electronic devices for long periods. Education & Credentials High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in bridal and/or special‑occasion production environment. 1–2 years of retail experience in an apparel or specialty store.
