Test Technician III - Sea-Bird Scientific

Sea-Bird Scientific Test Technician III This role operates at an advanced level within test and validation, spanning multiple functional areas, including production testing, troubleshooting, process improvement, and cross‑functional coordination. The Test Technician III ensures a safe, reliable, cost‑effective manufacturing environment while meeting test throughput, quality standards, and delivery targets. Responsibilities Perform quality pre‑checks on components and parts required to complete a job. Follow detailed instructions in a variety of formats (drawings, schematics, bills of material, internal procedures or a combination thereof) and report work completed on a daily basis. Perform quality checks on completed assemblies, as needed. Understand and meet quality and delivery requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing best practices. Lead or assist the Lead with Kaizen events. Work off‑shift as needed to support the department, meet deadlines or maximize uptime on machinery and processes. Interpret most test results and evaluate data independently. Assess issues, apply problem‑solving, and troubleshoot to develop solutions. Understand how the department relates to others in the company and have a broad understanding of how Operations groups fit together. Identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations to the Supervisor. Recognize and report problems with quality, processes, equipment or materials to the Manufacturing Lead, Supervisor or Operations Manager, and assist with highly complex troubleshooting. Provide hands‑on job‑function training to coworkers as needed and act as an informal resource. Essential Requirements A minimum of a 2‑year technical degree or equivalent work experience. Preferred Qualifications A minimum of 5 years of related work experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read, interpret, and use engineering drawings and schematics. Ability to learn new computer software programs. Excellent electro‑mechanical skills, including troubleshooting. Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform precise procedures consistently. Basic knowledge of necessary instruments and tools. Work Environment & Compensation Location: Bellevue, WA. This is an onsite, day‑shift role and will be part of the Sea-Bird Scientific Manufacturing & Operations team. The role reports to the Production Supervisor, Manufacturing & Operations. The position may also include bonus pay. The compensation range may be modified in the future based on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
