Safety Training Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking a Safety Training Coordinator for a direct hire opportunity in Carson, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on safety professional who enjoys training employees, improving workplace safety practices, and partnering with operations, warehouse, transportation, Human Resources, and leadership teams.

The Safety Training Coordinator will help support a proactive safety-first culture across manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, and operational environments. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct regular safety and operational audits to identify hazards, improve compliance, and reinforce OSHA requirements, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Coordinate and deliver employee safety training, including new-hire training, ongoing safety refreshers, forklift-related training, and post-incident follow-up training.
- Train light-truck drivers on proper loading, material securement, tie-down procedures, and safe equipment use.
- Partner with Human Resources and management on workplace safety investigations, accidents, incidents, safety violations, and corrective action recommendations.
- Maintain accurate safety records, training documentation, inspection reports, and compliance-related materials.
- Assist with facility inspections conducted by outside agencies, including the fire department, CUPA, and other regulatory agencies.

Compensation and Benefits

- Total compensation: $75,000 to $85,000 per year.
- Direct hire opportunity.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Conduct workplace safety audits and identify potential hazards in warehouse, distribution, branch, and operational environments.
- Deliver hands-on safety training for employees, drivers, and operational teams.
- Support accident, incident, and safety violation investigations with accurate documentation and follow-up.
- Maintain safety training records, inspection documentation, and compliance materials.

- 3 to 5 years of experience in workplace safety, safety training, operations, warehouse, distribution, transportation, or a related field.
- Certified Forklift Trainer certification is required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to company locations as required.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to train, coach, and influence employees at all levels.
- Ability to clearly communicate safety expectations while maintaining a positive, professional, and approachable style.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize hazards, unsafe practices, and compliance concerns.
- Strong organizational, documentation, investigation, and recordkeeping skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn company safety and training systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Human Resources, managers, drivers, warehouse employees, and other team members.

Preferred Qualifications

- Working knowledge of OSHA workplace safety requirements and general safety practices.
- Experience supporting safety programs in manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, transportation, or branch operations.
- Experience responding to facility inspections from outside agencies such as fire departments, CUPA, or other regulatory agencies.
- Experience training employees on loading, material securement, tie-down procedures, equipment use, and incident-prevention practices.
