About This Job UBH seeks a bright and highly motivated individual with excellent critical thinking ability to help grow our community of supporters and advance our mission to end family homelessness in Los Angeles. This role combines volunteer leadership, donor engagement, and fundraising operations, offering an excellent opportunity for a development professional to deepen experience while managing meaningful community partnerships. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Associate will oversee UBH’s volunteer program and manage a portfolio of approximately 100 small to mid-level individual donors, strengthening donor relationships and building the pipeline for future major gifts. Responsibilities Volunteer Engagement: Lead UBH’s volunteer program including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and stewardship. Manage corporate volunteer days, group service projects, and community partnerships. Lead volunteer stewardship including appreciation, recognition, feedback collection, and donor conversion opportunities. Track volunteer data, hours, demographics, and impact stories for reporting and grants. Coordinate in-kind donations, including Adopt-A-Family and other volunteer-driven giving programs. Individual Giving & Donor Engagement: Manage and cultivate a portfolio of 100 small to mid-level individual donors; conduct donor outreach through calls, emails, notes, and event invitations; support donor retention and upgrades through personalized stewardship and engagement. Development Operations: Maintain donor and volunteer records in Salesforce CRM; process donations and acknowledgements; support donor stewardship efforts; assist with fundraising events, donor communications, and annual giving campaigns; conduct prospect research and prepare reports on donor and volunteer engagement. Qualifications 2–5 years of experience in nonprofit administration, development support, or volunteer coordination. Strong relationship-building and communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience with CRM systems, data entry, reporting, and gift processing (Salesforce REQUIRED). Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service mindset. Experience supporting fundraising events and donor engagement activities. Highly detail-oriented with strong follow-through. Passion for social impact, community engagement, and housing stability.
