Part-Time Accounting Coordinator

A well-established boutique design firm in Evanston is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Coordinator to support its day-to-day accounting operations. This position offers an hourly rate of $25-$35 per hour based on experience. Working directly with ownership, the successful candidate will oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial reporting, and other accounting functions that help keep the business running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have experience working for a product-based company, understand vendor agreements and product costs, and enjoy working independently in a collaborative small-business environment where accuracy, organization, and flexibility are valued. Responsibilities of the Part-Time Accounting Coordinator: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions while ensuring accurate billing, timely payments, and proper recordkeeping. Process payroll and maintain employee payroll records while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Prepare and maintain financial reports, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accurate accounting records. Monitor vendor invoices, purchasing activity, vendor agreements, and product costs while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Utilize Google Sheets to track financial data, reporting, and key accounting information while maintaining organized and accurate records. Assist with month-end accounting activities, cash tracking, and other day-to-day bookkeeping and administrative accounting functions as needed. Work directly with ownership to provide accurate financial information, identify discrepancies, and support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Qualifications of the Part-Time Accounting Coordinator: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience with a strong background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Experience working for a product-based company with an understanding of vendor agreements, purchasing, and product costs preferred. Proficiency in Google Sheets and experience working with accounting software. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
