Location: Remote
Duration: Through the end of the year, with potential for extension
Work Authorization: Open to any visa
Hours: 37.5 hours/week.
We are seeking an AI Developer with strong Python and Azure experience to support the design, development, and enhancement of AI-powered applications and automation solutions. This role will focus on building and maintaining Python-based AI solutions while leveraging Azure cloud services to deploy, monitor, and optimize applications.
The ideal candidate understands core AI and machine learning concepts and can effectively apply them within development projects. While this is not an AI Architect or Research Engineer position, candidates should have enough understanding of AI platforms, models, and underlying architectures to recognize system dependencies, evaluate potential impacts of platform updates, and adapt solutions when changes occur.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain AI-enabled applications using Python.
- Build integrations with Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, and other Azure cloud services.
- Create APIs, automation workflows, and backend services that support AI-driven business processes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
- Monitor AI solution performance and troubleshoot issues related to models, prompts, integrations, and data pipelines.
- Assist with deployment and support of AI applications in Azure environments.
- Stay informed of changes to AI platforms, model capabilities, and cloud services that may impact existing solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices.
- Document solution architecture, workflows, and technical processes.
- Support ongoing enhancements to AI applications and automation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of Python development experience.
Experience developing applications in Microsoft Azure.
Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and application integrations.
Understanding of AI and machine learning concepts such as:
o Large Language Models (LLMs)
o Prompt engineering
o Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
o Model training vs. inference
o Embeddings and vector search
o AI model evaluation and monitoring
Familiarity with Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, Azure Functions, Azure App Services, or similar Azure technologies.
Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building generative AI or Copilot-style solutions.
- Experience with LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or similar AI frameworks.
- Experience with Azure AI Search or vector databases.
- Understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Exposure to machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Experience deploying AI solutions into production environments.
