Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Specialist in a healthcare facility located at the organizations unspecified location. This position involves providing specialized care to neonates and infants, particularly those with complex medical needs, surgical requirements, or in cooling protocols. The role requires adherence to clinical protocols and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Job Details: Certification and Education Requirements: BLS, NRP, and valid California State License. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a NICU setting. Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Clinical Responsibilities: Managing Neonates and infants from 23 weeks and up, including ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), line insertions (PICC and umbilical), and administering surfactants and steroids. Procedures and Equipment: Performing line insertions such as PICC and umbilical lines, bronchoscopy, LISA, VCUG, MRI, swallow studies, and line management. Using specialized equipment including jet, HF vent, vent, high flow, CPAP, and ostomy care tools. Additional Details: No call required, every other weekend off, with float to pediatric, PICU, or nursery units. Orientation includes 60 hours of training. Candidates must complete labs within 3-5 days of contract signing, and provide 7-year work history verification.
