Location: Clinton, Iowa (Onsite) Work Type: Contract (68 Weeks) Schedule: 3 Days / Week (12-Hour Shifts) Hours: 36 Hours per Week

Shift Details

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
• Schedule: Monday Friday (3 shifts/week)
• 36 Hours per Week

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering basic nursing care, supporting patient treatment plans, and assisting Registered Nurses and physicians in a clinical setting. This role involves administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring high-quality patient care. The LPN will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to support patient recovery and maintain a safe and effective care environment.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Assessment

• Assist in assessing patient physical, psychosocial, and educational needs
• Support development and implementation of patient care plans
• Provide direct patient care under supervision of RN

Clinical & Medication Support

• Administer medications as prescribed
• Assist with treatments and patient care procedures
• Support telemetry monitoring and patient observation

Monitoring & Documentation

• Monitor and record patient conditions
• Document patient information accurately in EMR (Epic preferred)
• Communicate patient status changes to RN and care team

Care Coordination & Education

• Assist in discharge planning and patient education
• Support patient/family learning needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Compliance & Professional Standards

• Follow HIPAA and hospital policies
• Participate in training, meetings, and process improvement initiatives
• Maintain professional growth and competency

Must-Have Qualifications

• Active LPN License (State of Iowa or Compact)
• BLS Certification (Required)
• Minimum 1+ year of LPN experience
• Experience with medication administration and patient care
• Basic knowledge of telemetry monitoring
• Ability to work night shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Epic EMR system
• Previous travel LPN experience
• Experience in acute care or hospital settings
