- Perform full spectrum of nuclear medicine procedures for a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
- Perform tests and examinations using radionuclides, radiation detectors, scanning apparatus, and related equipment in medical laboratories and clinics.
- Responsible for the end-to-end management of radiopharmaceuticals, from procurement and preparation to patient administration.
- Employ aseptic techniques to prepare and manipulate sterile radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications.
- Manage the use of personnel monitoring devices, monitor exposure reports to ensure all staff remain within the annual regulatory limit.
- Perform imaging procedures, utilizing modern methodologies and accurately acquiring and processing data to optimize the studies for the physician's interpretation.
- Facilitate the administration of advanced radioligand therapies for neuroendocrine tumors and metastatic prostate cancer.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination unless exempted by appropriate medical professional for medical or religious reasons.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing thereafter.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as, on-call, working either fixed or rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- This position requires incumbent to wear Personnel Protective Equipment.
- This position requires Basic Life Support (BLS), and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training certification from, or in accordance with the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
- Incumbent must possess a Nuclear Medicine Technician (CNMT) certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technician Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In making this determination, the agency may consider your performance and conduct; agency needs and interests; whether your continued employment supports organizational or Government goals; and whether it promotes the efficiency of the Federal service. Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest.
