Job Description
Title: Charge Nurse - Emergency Room

Requirements:
- License: Compact state license must be in hand at submission
- Years of experience: Minimum of 2 years required, with at least 1 year in a charge role
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC; additional certifications such as NIHSS and PALS preferred
- Experience in emergency care with proficiency in charge/triage leadership

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and coordination of the emergency department
- Manage patient flow and ED operations while ensuring high-quality care
- Respond to medical emergencies and lead resuscitation efforts
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures

Compliance / Notes:
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts required per schedule; weekends as needed
- Holiday requirement: Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays
- Pre-approved time off: 1 shift per schedule
- Modules: Pre-start modules average approximately 16 hours
