Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate patient needs, develop and implement customized treatment plans, and monitor progress throughout therapy.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, to provide individual and group counseling to clients of all ages.
• Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and support groups that promote understanding of mental health issues and foster community among clients.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care, addressing both immediate and long-term needs.
• Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies, offering empathetic, timely responses to ensure client safety.
• Educate clients about mental health conditions, treatment pathways, and available community resources to enhance their understanding and engagement in the therapeutic process.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Engage regularly in professional development, case consultations, and team meetings to stay current on best practices and emerging trends in mental health therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our diverse patient population includes individuals grappling with a variety of mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and substance use issues. Counselors are tasked with providing tailored care that respects each individual’s unique background, cultural context, and clinical needs, ensuring that every client receives the support necessary for their journey toward improved mental health.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is required; a Master’s or Doctoral degree is preferred.
• Possession of a current and valid LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) license in California.
• Strong foundational knowledge of mental health disorders and familiarity with various evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop strategic treatment plans.
• Experience in providing therapy to individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, along with a strong sense of ethics and professional boundaries.
• Proficient in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and related computer applications.
• A willingness to collaborate and work within a multidisciplinary team aimed at improving client outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• Three years of experience in a clinical setting, specifically in outpatient care.
• Experience with evidence-based practices and familiarity with group therapy facilitation.
• Experience in crisis intervention and familiarity with working with diverse populations.
