Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team at Fort Healthcare and Counseling Center. This full-time position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about mental health and are eager to make a meaningful impact on the lives of diverse patients. You will primarily work remotely, although occasional on-site collaboration at our outpatient office in Anaheim, California, may be required.

Although the majority of your work will be done remotely, our outpatient facility remains an available resource for collaboration and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to identify the mental health needs of patients, ensuring accurate evaluation and development of tailored treatment plans.
• Provide short-term individual counseling and immediate crisis intervention services, facilitating sessions for patients grappling with various mental health concerns.
• Lead and facilitate therapy groups and workshops focusing on relevant topics, such as stress management, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills development, to enhance patient outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with multiple hospital departments, engaging with medical teams, patient support staff, and community organizations to provide holistic patient care.
• Participate in outreach initiatives and wellness campaigns aimed at increasing mental health awareness and promoting proactive mental health practices in the community.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential treatment records in compliance with state regulations and ethical guidelines, employing electronic health record systems and documentation methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will involve diverse patient populations, including individuals coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges. By utilizing a person-centered approach, you will engage effectively with patients from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, helping them navigate their mental health journeys.

Qualifications

• Active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field.
• Exceptional understanding of mental health challenges prevalent in a hospital setting, coupled with a commitment to patient-centered care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively connect with patients and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary medical team.
• Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques and familiarity with brief therapy approaches suitable for outpatient counseling settings.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating excellent stress management and prioritization skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within a hospital counseling environment or an outpatient clinic.
• Familiarity with electronic health records and digital therapy tools.
• Previous participation in community mental health initiatives or wellness programs is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary ranging from USD 115,000 to 130,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
