This full-time position, primarily carried out in a remote setting, focuses on the comprehensive care of clients struggling with mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions. This role is vital in our outpatient office, as you will play an essential part in improving the mental health and well-being of our clients through expert counseling and therapy.

Work Environment

This position offers remote work flexibility, allowing you to engage with clients from the comfort of your own home while maintaining access to a supportive network of fellow professionals. Although your primary work will be conducted remotely, our outpatient office facilitates team meetings, collaborative case reviews, and training sessions to ensure a connected team environment. You will have access to various digital therapeutic tools and resources that enhance your practice and enhance client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Accurately evaluate clients presenting with mood disorders by gathering detailed information about their symptoms, mental health history, and psychosocial factors through interviews and standardized assessments.
• Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to create individualized treatment plans that are evidence-based and tailored to their specific needs. Regularly review and adjust plans as necessary based on client progress and feedback.
• Provide Evidence-Based Psychotherapy: Utilize therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques to effectively address mood disorders.
• Collaboration with Psychiatrist: Work closely with the supervising psychiatrist to monitor medication management for clients when necessary, delivering insights regarding medication effectiveness and patient adherence.
• Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to clients experiencing acute psychiatric crises, providing immediate support and stabilization strategies.
• Maintain Detailed Clinical Documentation: Keep accurate records of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA and state regulations, ensuring that all documentation reflects the care provided.
• Team Collaboration: Engage with fellow mental health professionals in regular team meetings, sharing insights, discussing client progress, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Client Education: Provide valuable information and resources to both clients and their families regarding mood disorders, coping mechanisms, and treatment options.
• Ethical Practice: Uphold high ethical standards in all interactions, ensuring client confidentiality and establishing strong therapeutic boundaries.
• Participation in Quality Improvement: Take an active role in initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery and client outcomes through ongoing evaluation and feedback.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves adults aged 18 and up who are struggling with a variety of mood disorders. Clients may present with challenges such as severe anxiety, depressive episodes, and other related mental health issues that require tailored therapeutic interventions. The focus will be not only on treating symptoms but also on empowering clients with coping strategies and resiliency skills.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
• At least two years of post-licensure experience dealing specifically with mood disorders is preferred.
• Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic modalities related to mood disorders and an understanding of various treatment approaches.

Preferred Experience

Experience in an outpatient setting, alongside a proven track record of developing and implementing successful treatment plans for diverse clientele, will be highly regarded. Familiarity with digital therapeutic tools and telehealth services is a plus, as is experience with crisis intervention strategies.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive at USD 100,000 to 105,000 per year, complemented by performance-based bonuses based on individual contributions and organizational goals.
