Construction Litigation Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Construction Litigation Attorney in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will represent design professionals such as architects, engineers, and surveyors in cases involving professional negligence claims. The role involves handling contract disputes related to design changes, construction defects, and bodily injury or wrongful death claims. Duties Manage pre-trial work including motion practice and discovery. Collaborate with expert witnesses for case preparation. Conduct trials in federal, state, or tribal courts, and participate in arbitration. Engage with insurance carriers and manage coverage issues. Requirements Experience in construction law representing design professionals. Proven litigation skills in contract and negligence claims. Experience with insurance carriers and coverage is advantageous. Prior experience at a reputable law firm is preferred. A portable book of business is preferred but not required. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois. Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
