The Mount Union Area School District is seeking a dedicated Elementary Library Media Specialist to provide students with an enriched library environment offering a wide variety of materials that inspire intellectual growth, and to help students develop the skills needed to make full use of library resources. Job Summary
To provide all students with an enriched library environment containing a wide variety and range of materials that will invite intellectual growth, and to aid all students in acquiring the skills needed to take full advantage of library resources. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:

Specific duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:
- Provide library instruction for students in the area of library resources (primary responsibility).
- Operate and supervise the library(ies) to which assigned.
- Work with teachers and support in the selection, distribution, and acquisition of appropriate books, periodicals, and other resource materials.
- Complement the reading program under the supervision of the Elementary Principal and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
- Act as a teacher resource person in each of the elementary buildings assigned.
- Work closely with the Elementary Principal and teachers to update and develop a practical, workable scope and sequence for the library curriculum involving kindergarten through fifth grade students.
