Research Engineer

THE OPPORTUNITYOur client is hiring for the position of Research Engineer. This role will report to the Director of Research and Development Engineering within the Research and Development Engineering team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, simulation, prototyping, and testing of wireless communication and sensing projects and products. This is a hybrid schedule role, with a requirement of being onsite for a minimum of 3 days per week. On-site attendance is expected on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.This position involves performing a range of essential job functions. These duties and responsibilities may be modified or reassigned as deemed necessary by management.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESCreate testbenches for complete-system HDL simulations.Enhance and maintain existing HDL testing infrastructure.Automate specific testing procedures using scripts.Gather, manage, and utilize code coverage data from test suites.Design and implement HDL blocks.Verify and troubleshoot hardware; familiarity with logic analyzers required.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with at least 4 years of demonstrated experience in FPGA design and testing/verification. Alternatively, 2 years of FPGA experience in design and testing/verification with a master's or advanced degree.Proven experience with high-utilization FPGA designs across multiple clock domains.Proficiency in Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs, and the Vivado IDE.Competence in tcl or python scripting languages.PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE).Demonstrated expertise in fixed point binary arithmetic and digital signal processing designs.Basic proficiency in MATLAB.Experience with communication systems on FPGA or ASIC designs.COMPENSATIONThe salary range provided is not guaranteed and is based on market research and peer data. It varies depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.CA Pay Range$100,000—$130,000 USD
