Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Postpartum RN for a high-volume, high-risk obstetric unit requiring 2+ years of high acuity postpartum experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in a large-volume, high-census Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Postpartum unit
• Care for a diverse, high-risk obstetric patient population
• Standard couplet ratio is 1:4, with potential census surges requiring management of a 4th couplet
• Day shift schedule, 3x12s or 4x12s (traveler's choice)
• 13 or 26 week assignment length (traveler's choice)
• Required to work 6 weekend days per contract
• Float required to Issaquah Campus Postpartum, Edmonds Campus Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery for 2nd hour of recovery
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of high acuity postpartum nursing experience required
• High-risk obstetric care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required (hard requirement)
• Experience with Magnesium Sulfate therapy and Pitocin (oxytocin) administration required
• Experience with postpartum hemorrhage, vaginal delivery, and cesarean section postpartum care required
• Skilled in episiotomy/incision care, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and substance withdrawal care
• JADA experience preferred
• 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, from a comparable specialty/setting, required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive postpartum care including care after vaginal delivery and cesarean section
• Manage high-risk obstetric patients and postpartum hemorrhage cases
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• First-time travelers welcome if they meet the 2-year high acuity postpartum experience requirement in high-volume facilities
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Only one submission system-wide allowed at a time to Providence facilities
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities (permanent, travel, or per-diem), including location and dates
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
