The position requires phlebotomy and other specimen collections, processing specimens, computer activities, and responding to customer requests. The role works in partnership with laboratory personnel to ensure efficient, high‑quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities Perform waived and moderate complexity testing accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a Satellite Lab Tech, CLS, or Tech Supervisor. Perform diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens, interpret, document, and report results to providers. Perform quality control, maintenance, troubleshoot, verify accuracy of all instruments. Perform EKG procedures for outpatient, pre‑operative patients and convenient‑care inpatients. Collaborate with main lab staff, nurses, and providers to ensure excellent patient care. Work at more than one Satellite location, including holiday and weekend rotations, and share on‑call duty. Prioritize tests and ensure timely completion with laboratory staff. Identify and solve problems using appropriate resources and supervisory assistance. Follow JCAHO National Patient Safety goals regarding patient identifiers and handwashing. Perform phlebotomy and other specimen collections per age‑related standards, provide appropriate post‑phlebotomy care, and call code when needed. Perform system quality control and quality assurance tasks. Use reagents and supplies cost‑effectively. Respond to customer calls professionally and report test results accurately over the telephone. Qualifications Required Phlebotomy experience or graduation from a college‑approved phlebotomy program. Upon hire, provide proof of high school diploma or equivalency and/or transcripts as required by CLIA guidelines. Basic computer knowledge. Preferred EKG experience or graduation from a college‑approved EKG program. Previous laboratory experience.
