POSITION SUMMARY

Wright Construction Group LLC is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Director of Quality across our

active federal construction portfolio. This role sits at the center of our QC operations keeping documentation

current, submittals on track, and quality records accurate across multiple concurrent projects.

The right candidate brings a sharp eye for detail, a working knowledge of construction documentation, and the

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Director of Quality Support

• Assist the Director of Quality with QC tasks, documentation, and project coordination.
• Track open QC issues, submittals, RFIs, deficiencies, and closeout items across all active projects.
• Prepare reports, trackers, meeting notes, and project updates on a recurring basis.
• Follow up with QCMs, project managers, subcontractors, and vendors on outstanding items.
• Help maintain consistency across all project quality files and records.

Submittal Review

• Review submittals for completeness before they go forward for approval.
• Compare submittals against project specifications, drawings, and the submittal register.
• Flag missing items, incorrect products, absent certifications, warranties, test reports, or incomplete documentation.
• Prepare clear review comments for non-compliant or incomplete submittals.
• Track submittal status and follow up on pending or rejected items.

QC Documentation

• Organize and maintain QC documentation for all active projects.
• Review and track daily QC reports, inspection reports, deficiency logs, test reports, photos, and meeting records.
• Support preparation of QC checklists, preparatory meeting forms, initial inspection records, and follow-up documentation.
• Verify that QC documents are complete, accurate, and filed in the correct project folders.

Project Coordination

• Communicate with QCMs, PMs, superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers to collect required documents.
• Track project risks, missing documents, and action items.
• Assist with RFIs, project logs, and quality-related correspondence.
• Support the Director of Quality in preparing for internal QC meetings and project reviews.

Closeout Support

• Collect and organize closeout documents for active and completing projects.
• Track warranties, O&M manuals, as-builts, test reports, training records, and final QC documentation.
• Help prepare final quality closeout packages for review and submission.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field or equivalent field experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.

Preferred

• 1–3 years of construction experience, ideally in a quality control or project engineering role.
• Hands-on experience with submittals, RFIs, QC reports, and project documentation.
• Federal construction experience (USACE, NAVFAC, VA, DHA, or DoD projects).
• Basic understanding of the Three Phases of Control.
• OSHA 30 certification.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in an office environment with minimal exposure to outdoor elements. May require occasional travel to job sites or other company locations travel up to 25%.
