Mancan Staffing in partnership with a Willoughby company is in need of shipping clerk. Starting pay would be based upon experience. Hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm. lunch break and 2x10 minute breaks
Candidates need to be quick and have a genuine interest in what they are doing.

General Purpose:

Responsible for performing various material handling duties including: Receipt, processing and storage of inventory. Pull and stage stock items or finished goods for production or shipping. Prepare and process product for shipping. Perform any essential inventory functions as needed in support of warehouse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Print out Sales Order picklists and accurately pull corresponding product and quantities.
Responsible for preparation of product (cartons, packing material & palletization) for outbound shipment to ensure safe arrival at destination.
Contact and select carriers to schedule level of service as applicable to ensure safe arrival of product at destination using negotiated transportation contract rates.
Process shipments into Vantage ERP system throughout the day. Ensure that required packing list, certificates, commercial invoices or other documents are prepared and are included with shipment.
Communicate with Sales and Production and related support areas as needed.
Receive cross-training in other shipping/warehouse areas and perform those duties as needed (example: Cycle Counting).
Practice good housekeeping and safety fundamentals keeping aisles and electrical panels clear and inventory well organized to facilitate efficient order pulling and inventory accuracy.

Load and unload trucks as needed. Ensure all scheduled pickups are completed and secure building at end of day.
Operate various equipment, such as pallet jack and reach truck, etc.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in shipping / warehousing operations preferred.
Clean driving record
Basic computer and e-mail related proficiency, create and edit documents, update and review spreadsheets

Physical Requirements. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

Ability to routinely lift & handle boxes weighing up to 60 lbs.; most 20 lbs. or less.
Use various material handling equipment as required.
Ability to safely operate power tools as needed to support shipping / warehouse function.
