As our newest acquired dealership, we're entering an exciting new chapter — bringing fresh energy, new opportunities, and renewed investment in our people and our customers. We're looking for a Used Car Sales Director to lead the strategic direction of our used vehicle department — owning acquisition strategy, pricing, and reconditioning oversight, and managing the Used Car Manager and sales team to drive department-level performance.

Responsibilities

• Set overall strategy for used vehicle acquisition, including trade-ins, auctions, and wholesale purchasing
• Oversee used vehicle pricing strategy using market data and pricing tools to balance turn rate and gross profit
• Manage reconditioning timelines and processes in partnership with the service department
• Directly manage and support the Used Car Manager, providing guidance on team coaching, deal structure, and daily operations
• Analyze department-level KPIs (turn rate, gross profit, units sold, aging inventory) and adjust strategy accordingly
• Partner with the General Sales Manager and dealership leadership to align used car strategy with overall sales goals
• Monitor and report on used vehicle department performance to dealership leadership
• Ensure used vehicle merchandising, online listings, and pricing accurately reflect current inventory and market conditions

• Proven experience in used car sales management, with a strong understanding of vehicle acquisition, appraisal, and pricing strategy
• Experience managing a manager or team lead within a used car department
• Strong understanding of reconditioning processes and inventory turn management
• Proven leadership and team development skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and inventory data
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with used vehicle pricing/valuation tools (e.g., vAuto, KBB, Black Book)
• Prior experience as a Used Car Sales Director or Used Car Manager at a Ford dealership
• Track record of improving used vehicle turn rate and gross profit
