Day Shift | 4 days a week (Friday's off)

A growing Tier 1 automotive supplier in the Florence, Alabama area is seeking a Controls Engineer to support robotics, PLCs, automation systems, and continuous improvement initiatives within a highly automated manufacturing environment.

This position will work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, improve system reliability, and support ongoing automation upgrades.

Key responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting robotic systems, PLCs, conveyors, sensors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Programming and maintaining PLCs and robotic automation systems
• Supporting ABB Robotics and Siemens PLC environments
• Assisting with automation improvements and vision systems
• Root cause analysis and equipment downtime reduction
• Preventive maintenance and optimization of automated manufacturing systems
• Supporting continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
• Cross-functional collaboration with operations and engineering teams

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field preferred
• Hands-on controls/automation experience within manufacturing
• Siemens PLC and/or ABB Robotics experience strongly preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
