Registered Nurse - CVOR

$3400.00/week -

Job Summary:

The CVOR RN will provide specialized perioperative care for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patients in a high-volume, academic hospital setting. This role requires a skilled RN with recent cardiovascular operating room experience to support complex surgical procedures and ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Coordinate and deliver perioperative nursing care for CVOR patients throughout the surgical process.
  
  
• 
  Circulate or scrub in cardiac, vascular, or thoracic surgeries, maintaining sterile technique and supporting surgical teams.
  
  
• 
  Prepare surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness and compliance with safety standards.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient status intraoperatively, responding effectively to emergencies or complications.
  
  
• 
  Document all aspects of care accurately in the electronic medical record system, ensuring compliance with facility policies.
  
  
• 
  Flexibly adapt to float assignments across various OR suites, as needed, to support staffing demands.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years recent OR experience, specifically in cardiovascular or open-heart surgery.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate previous travel experience in OR nursing.
  
  
• 
  Possess BLS certification; CNOR credential preferred.
  
  
• 
  Experienced with Epic EMR systems within the past 2 years.
  
  
• 
  Capable of working flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, with availability for holiday coverage.
  
  
• 
  Comfortable floating to other OR specialties, including general, ortho, neuro, and ENT, if needed.
