Supports efficient clinic operations by managing patient flow, coordinating administrative tasks, and performing phone triage under physician guidance. Contributes to the overall effectiveness of the office through both clinical and administrative responsibilities.Job Duties & Essential Functions:Patient Engagement & Clinical IntakePre-Examination & Diagnostic TestingClinical Workflow & Physician SupportRoom & Equipment MaintenanceCompliance, Communication & DevelopmentRequired Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalentMinimum of two (2) years of experience as an Ophthalmic TechnicianStrong customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanor.Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.Skilled in problem-solving with strong attention to detail.Proficient in computer use, ranging from basic to advanced tasks.Ability to stand for long periods of timePreferred Qualifications:Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) required or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification required, or candidate must be actively enrolled with completion expected within two (2) years of hire.Work Schedule:Rotating Schedule – including days, evenings and weekendsTravel Requirement: This is a traveling position. Must be willing to travel between the Smithtown & Bay Shore locations.
