Fundraising & Development Specialist

Position Overview As the Fundraising & Development Specialist, you will help Meridian grow and expand our world class educational offerings. As a valued member of our Community Engagement team, you will oversee tasks related to individual giving, grant opportunities, and community partnerships. This position works 197 days per year, with breaks in the fall, winter, and spring, as well as six weeks in the summer. You will manage relationships with current and prospective donors, bolster participation, and research opportunities to bring in additional funds. Day-to-day work includes tracking pledges, contributions, and corporate matches using our donor database (DonorPerfect); responding to donor queries; and working with the Community Engagement Director and COO to achieve annual fundraising and development goals. The specialist will utilize a customer relationship management (CRM) software like DonorPerfect and be able to skillfully maintain the database for functionality and report generation. Duties / Responsibilities Support the Office of Community Engagement to achieve mission and vision of organization Work with Community Engagement Director to prioritize giving needs and processes to meet campaign goals Work with Communications Coordinator to launch campaigns including collateral materials and presentations Coordinate campus-wide fundraisers with sponsors/advisors Manage and maintain records and reports in the school's CRM software, DonorPerfect Research and write grants based on school needs in partnership with Community Engagement Director Research community partnerships and corporate/local business donors Analyze data to understand trends in donor base Generate reports on a weekly/monthly/campaign basis Communicate with donors Initiate and monitor corporate matches Maintain donor and student confidentiality Work cross-functionally within the department as needed Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficient in using Apple hardware and Google Workspace Experience with CRM software (DonorPerfect a plus) Demonstrate organizational, time management, and prioritization skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong attention to detail Ability to learn new systems and retain information quickly Professionalism, friendly and welcoming attitude Thrives in a collaborative school environment Qualifications Minimum of 2-4 years professional work experience preferred Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred Working Parameters and Conditions / Physical Requirements The Community Engagement Office works within the school setting, with hybrid remote work opportunities once trained. The hours can be flexible to work with school/activity schedules, typically between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with occasional weekend/evening work for special events.
