LPN Med/Surg Nurse

Job Summary:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN) in the Medical/Surgical unit is responsible for providing nursing care by assessing patients, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to maintain professional nursing standards. This role supports patients across all age groups and ensures quality care in a 13-bed adult med/surg setting. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement total nursing care plans based on patient assessments and nursing diagnoses.
- Provide direct nursing care to patients on a medical/surgical unit.
- Collaborate with ancillary nursing staff and patient care team members.
- Maintain standards for professional nursing practice within the clinical setting.
- Support patient populations including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics as needed.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN) in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in medical/surgical nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to develop nursing diagnoses and care plans.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working in a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio environment.
- Previous experience in an adult medical/surgical unit.
- Work is performed in a 13-bed adult medical/surgical unit.
- Requires cooperation with ancillary nursing and other patient care personnel.
- Day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5.
