Architectural Job Captain Position Overview

The Architectural Job Captain will lead project coordination and construction document production from design development through construction administration. You'll work closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multi-family, mixed-use, affordable housing, preservation, and NYCHA projects.
• Prepare and coordinate construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Manage multiple project filings, drawing sets, and deadlines.
• Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and project teams.
• Mentor junior staff and support project delivery efforts.
• Apply NYC and New York State building codes to project designs.
• Utilize Revit and AutoCAD for design and documentation.
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, and existing condition assessments.
• Support construction administration, RFIs, and design revisions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
• 3+ years of architectural experience, preferably in multi-family or affordable housing projects.
• Strong Revit skills and experience producing construction documents.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of NYC and New York State building codes.
• Experience coordinating consultants and managing project deadlines.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites throughout the New York metro area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with affordable housing, mixed-use, NYCHA, or historic preservation projects.
• Construction administration experience.
• Licensed Architect or pursuing licensure.
• Experience with renovations, rehabilitation, and restoration projects.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suffern, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
