Nature and Scope of Job: Philip's Academy Charter School of Paterson (Philip's) seeks an advanced professional to serve as Chief of Staff. The Chief of Staff is a member of the CEO's Leadership Team. Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer/Chief School Administrator, the Chief of Staff supports the strategic leadership and performance management of the organization – as a strategic advisor. The primary purpose of the Chief of Staff role is to strengthen organizational effectiveness by supporting strategic program improvement, ensuring quality implementation of school initiatives, facilitating performance monitoring, and coordinating leadership efforts across departments. Responsibilities: Strategic Program Improvement and Oversight Supports the CEO in the strategic coordination and implementation of school-wide priorities and initiatives. Assist the CEO in translating strategic goals into operational priorities across the organization. Support the alignment of programs, initiatives, and strategic plans across schools and departments with alignment to charter. Monitor implementation of key initiatives to ensure fidelity, effectiveness, and alignment with the school's mission. Provide strategic project management support for cross-functional initiatives and major organizational priorities. Monitor progress toward annual organizational goals and key performance indicators. Support the CEO in monitoring and improving overall organizational performance. Program Evaluation and Quality Assurance Support the CEO in maintaining high standards of quality and accountability across school programs. Lead the development and coordination of organizational program evaluation systems. Develop and maintain systems for evaluating program effectiveness across academic, enrichment, and operational programs. Support leadership teams in using performance data to improve programs and initiatives. Prepare reports and analyses that inform the CEO and leadership team on organizational performance. Support the development of dashboards, performance metrics, and internal evaluation tools. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and results-oriented leadership. Talent and Professional Development Lead talent strategy, initiatives, and life-cycle Serve as a key strategic advisor and partner to the CEO. Support the CEO in strengthening the organization's talent and leadership capacity. Foster collaboration across departments to improve organizational effectiveness. Assist in identifying leadership development opportunities for emerging leaders within the organization. Support leadership planning and succession planning across departments. Assist in cultivating strong professional learning and leadership growth systems across the organization. Support strategic hiring and organizational structure planning as directed by the CEO. Support leadership team meetings and planning processes that advance school priorities. External & Board Relationships Support the CEO in maintaining strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders. Assist in cultivating partnerships with community organizations, education institutions, and public stakeholders. Support the CEO in maintaining strong relationships with families, donors, government agencies, and community partners. Coordinate cross-organizational communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Represent the organization at meetings or events as designated by the CEO. Supports the CEO in ensuring strong governance via accountability, performance reporting, and strategy, and policy updates Professional Expectations Assumes responsibility for continuing professional growth through professional learning, conferences, and research. Performs other duties as assigned by the CEO Qualifications: Master's Degree required; advanced degree in educational leadership, public administration, or related field preferred. Minimum five (5) years of experience in public K-12 educational leadership, instructional leadership, education management or organizational leadership, required Holds a New Jersey School Leadership Certification (Standard or Certificate of Eligibility); Other Administrator Certification; or the meet eligibility requirements per NJDOE Experience with program evaluation, organizational performance management, or strategic planning and/or instructional leadership. Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Strong strategic thinking and organizational leadership skills. Strong communication, project management, and analytical skills. Commitment to Philip's Academy's mission and belief that all students can succeed. Demonstrated leadership skills in the areas of operations, finance, facilities, and technology Robust analytical skills, with an ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive results Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including use of productivity software. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the board's policy on evaluation.
