Details Hospital-based surgical/transplant unit (4W) providing care for post-surgical and pre-transplant patients Patient population includes kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant recipients as well as patients undergoing pre-transplant evaluation during inpatient stay Mixed med/surg and stepdown (PCU) floor — nurses may work either acuity level depending on staffing needs Patients require close monitoring for infection, organ rejection, and timely medication administration Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week) 13-week contract Requirements Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license) currently in hand Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; all certifications must be AHA-issued Minimum 1 year of acute care surgical floor (med/surg) experience required Stepdown/PCU experience required ENT and/or transplant experience preferred Preceptor and charge nurse experience preferred Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred OR (operating room) experience alone does not meet the requirements for this position Full date of birth required for consideration Additional Information Responsibilities include managing assigned patients, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, regulating IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating with physicians and support staff Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted Previously placed travelers must have a 6‑month separation after 26 cumulative weeks worked before being eligible for a new contract at this facility Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) is strictly enforced — non‑compliant travelers risk contract cancellation Background check and drug screen results typically take at least 2 weeks; candidates should report to the lab for drug screening promptly upon accepting an offer American Traveler Job ID #P-725361.
