Product Engineering Intern

Summary Burkert Systemhaus USA (Charlotte, NC) is the North American engineering and production hub for Burkert Fluid Control Systems, a globally recognized manufacturer of precision flow control systems serving pharmaceutical, biotech, food and beverage, lab/analytical, and emerging energy markets. Our Operations Internship places you inside one of our production site’s departments for the full 8–10 week program. Each track is led by its department manager, who serves as your direct hiring manager and owns your experience from first day to final presentation. You are not a visitor rotating through, you are a contributing member of that team for the summer. Responsibilities Each department independently recruits for its own intern. You apply to a specific track based on your academic background and career interests. If selected, your department manager conducts your interview, makes the offer, and owns your onboarding, project assignments, day‑to‑day supervision, and final evaluation. All interns share a common program framework: a scoped project defined in Week 1, a midpoint check‑in with the VP of Operations, and a structured capstone presentation delivered to the operations leadership team at program close. The project scope is set by your department manager and aligned to live departmental priorities, not a training exercise. This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected.
