Posting Summary The Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT) is conducting research to develop durable, sustainable, resilient, and smart transportation infrastructure. We are currently accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position focused on non‑destructive testing and evaluation of civil infrastructure. Responsibilities The successful candidate will report to Professors Hao Wang and Nenad Gucunski and work independently on projects related to non‑destructive testing and evaluation of reinforced concrete structures. Responsibilities include: Conducting both fundamental and applied research in non‑destructive testing, structural health monitoring, and related technologies. Publishing research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and conferences. Assisting in the development and writing of proposals for external research funding. Managing, documenting, and organizing multiple simultaneous projects. Communicating research progress and results through presentations, technical reports, and other written materials. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: PhD in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering field. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience in non‑destructive testing, evaluation, and structural health monitoring of reinforced concrete structures using mechanical, acoustic, electromagnetic, electrical, and electrochemical methods (e.g., ultrasonic, GPR). Experience with numerical simulation and artificial intelligence for advanced modeling and analysis. Self‑motivated with strong problem‑solving and conceptual thinking skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills. Ability to manage multiple projects under general supervision.
