Assistant Pastry Chef at Kneaders Bakery & Cafe We are seeking a talented pastry chef to join our dynamic team. The role involves producing more than 40 fresh baked pastries, pies, cakes, and muffins all made with honest, whole ingredients. Work Hours & Benefits Work Monday and Friday mornings from 5am-11am, and Saturdays from 5am-8am. Always off Sundays. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas every year. Free meal each shift and employee discounts on food & retail. Hourly + pooled tips per shift. Growth paths: pastry & bread mastery, retail leadership, multi‑unit ops. Responsibilities Follow recipes and maintain high standards of quality for pastries, pies, cakes, muffins, and other baked goods. Handle large amounts of dough and ingredients (up to 50 lbs) and perform associated lifting and mixing tasks. Work effectively in a changing environment and maintain focus on cooking details. Maintain a clean, safe kitchen in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Start shifts early (before sunrise) as an early bird. Qualifications Entry level – training provided; no formal pastry education required. Willingness to learn and adapt. Proficiency in handling heavy dough, mixing, and kitchen tasks. Compliance with food handler & sanitation regulations. Must be at least 18 years of age.
