This role supervises maintenance mechanics, coordinates work activities, ensures compliance with engineering standards, and maintains high-quality facility operations.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise mechanics responding to maintenance issues across carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, landscape services, and building systemsOrganize and direct daily facilities maintenance operations and projectsCollaborate with Facilities Manager to establish work schedules, assignments, and material procurementCoordinate daily work activities for technicians, ensuring quality and timely completionPartner with global organization on Engineering Compliance requirements and conduct field checksOrient, train, and develop employees; establish performance standards and conduct evaluationsDevelop cost estimates for maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance, and construction projectsEstablish and maintain facilities maintenance department budgetInteract with stakeholders to coordinate work and communicate project detailsPerform additional duties as assignedRequired Skills & QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent5+ years facility/plant engineering maintenance experience5+ years supervisory experienceExperience managing represented (union) employeesCore CompetenciesCross-functional collaboration across all site annexesExcellent organizational and communication skillsProblem-solving mindset with attention to detailTechnical Knowledge & SkillsStrong understanding of HVAC systems, fluid handling/pumping, mechanical systems, carpentry, welding, and electrical systemsWorking knowledge of current facility code requirements and standardsAbility to operate standard office equipment and hand toolsSkill level in operating tools/equipment typically acquired through trade or vocational trainingProficiency in MS Office and email systemsPreferred Skills & QualificationsAssociate's degree or technical certification in facilities management or related field7+ years facility maintenance experience with supervisory responsibilitiesExperience in pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or regulated environmentsCMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) familiarityKnowledge of EPA, OSHA, and regulatory compliance standardsRelevant trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)Project management experience or certificationBudget management and cost control experiencePreventative maintenance program implementation experienceThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
